Business Development Ambassador
Building relationships and connecting people has been John Blazier’s passion throughout his entire career. As Exemplar’s Business Development Ambassador, John partners with business and industry in the community through a Financial Literacy Program he developed. John determines how the professionals at Exemplar can best act as a liaison to create prosperity between businesses, their employees, potential customers and in their personal lives.
With more than 30 years of sales and management experience, John came to Exemplar in 2012. Originally starting out in 1980 as an insurance agent, John then moved into newspaper management with the Northwest Herald where he worked as a Circulation Sales Manager. Additionally, he also worked for Centegra Health Systems marketing their occupational medicine program.
John’s vast and varied experiences and easygoing, jack-of-all-trades disposition make him an invaluable asset not only in the financial planning industry but in the Crystal Lake community that he has lived in for over 45 years with his wife Amy and daughters Melissa and Natalie. A graduate of Crystal Lake Central High School, John also attended Milton and Carthage College where he majored in Physical Education and Health and participated on the football, wrestling and track teams.
With his continued passion for fitness, faith and his community, John has been active in mission work and outreach programs for the homeless through First United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake. John is honored to be involved in the Big Brother Big Sister program of McHenry County where he spends time with his little brother. Having been in three foster homes and an orphanage before the age of seven, John is also a supporter of the CASA of McHenry County program, which trains and supervises advocates for children going through the court system. In John’s words he was adopted and “Blessed” by the most fantastic parents he could have ever dreamed of. In addition John has completed two Chicago marathons and many triathlons. When John isn’t wearing one of his many hats, you can find him enjoying time in the great outdoors with his family or working out at the health club.
